OK... It's officially happened. We've cracked up.
We were sitting at the kitchen table after having our quinoa salad lunch (with lots of beans and veggies) talking about the virus and news and this and that.
I can't remember what the exact topic was at the time or what word triggered it. However... though it does embarrass me to write about this, but I can't write about this without mentioning this. Anyway...
In the middle of it all, uuuummmm.... a little flatuent escaped in a tiny, delicate toot.
I hoped Art didn't notice it.
But he did.
He looked at me, grinned and then started laughing uncontrollably. That got me laughing. Suddenly we were laughing so hard we could hardly catch our breath. Tears were streaming down both our cheeks. I hope the neighbors weren't listening.
We kept trying to stop our laughter, but couldn't.
Finally, we got under control. Then we looked at each other and started laughing again.
Good grief!
I think all this isolation is finally cracking us up.

It's good medicine to laugh!
ReplyDeleteKay the same thing is happening to me every few days I find myself laughing at nothing in particular sometimes uncontrollably. I think it is stress.
ReplyDeletecut back on those beans!
ReplyDeleteI bet you two would be fun to hang out with :)

ReplyDeleteStress laughing is better than stress crying. I had myself a little crying jag a few days ago, so I know. I would welcome a good "crack up".
What a hoot about a little toot! Maybe fewer beans and more sake? Laughter is the best medicine!
ReplyDeleteReminds of a time when my high school age son was driving, with me in the front passenger seat, on the long, boring 400 miles from KC to OKC. I had a little ice and soda left in a cup and wanted to pitch it before putting the cup in our car trash bin. I rolled down my electric window, and the nice spring breeze came in, and I held onto the cup and pitched the ice out the window. The ice, and my hand, came bouncing back at me, because I'd rolled down the back passenger window! We laughed at this goofball move for the next 200 miles. The son still reminds me of that funny episode of slapstick comedy and laughter. Linda in the wide open spaces of Kansas
I love your "hoot about a little toot!"
DeleteOh gosh! And I love your story about the car window. That's definitely something to remember.
Laughter:the best medicine.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but farts are always funny. Almost always although there are exceptions.
You two just took the best medicine there is and made it heal the day. Thanks for letting us get a spoonful also.
ReplyDeleteThis is just too too funny, Kay! Now you have me cracking up way over here in Texas. I can’t stop laughing! Thanks for sharing such a great “belly-laugh”, it’s just what I needed today. :)
ReplyDeleteYou two are not only entertaining each other, but the entire blogosphere! Thanks for posting that video by the doctor yesterday, although there wasn't anything funny about it, I feel much better informed about what's ahead.
ReplyDeleteLol! A special med to relieve anxiety :)
ReplyDeleteGood. Laughter is fine stuff. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSomething wonderful that you will always remember!
ReplyDeleteOhm, gosh!
ReplyDeleteThat would be hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful story.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gas! So bottom line: you both cracked up!
ReplyDeleteReminded me of my brother's response when those little accidents happened in his household. He would say to his children, "Oh, someone dropped a fluffy!" He often added, "It must have been the dog ... or cat." whether or not there was a pet in the house.
