Good grief!
Is it Friday already? Wasn't it just Monday a couple days ago?
Well...
This was Tuesday.
We were so glad to see that the Open (Farmers) Market was once more in operation.
Unfortunately several of the vendors were no longer there. Our favorite vendor told us that the others were not here because they could get more income through unemployment.
Sigh...
Hopefully, they'll be back once we are over the pandemic.
I gave our favorite vendor a couple of masks as a tip. I hope they like wearing them. I'm happy to say we got our usual papayas and other favorite vegetables.
Art is getting sushi for the 4th of July tomorrow. Our local government is worried about people who might choose not to social distance tomorrow. Fingers crossed. We've already had an uptick in COVID-19 cases from church, graduation and funeral gatherings. I know you are careful. I hope others are.

We'll still be in quarantine from our trip to Buffalo last month so no special outings for us. 3 more days of staying in our apartment then we are free to go out, masked. We'll start packing the car for our move and see some friends/family outside on patios and decks before we head north on the 15th.
ReplyDeleteI have no special plans, either, but we might order some food from our favorite place and bring it home for a nice meal together. Just the two of us. All the usual fireworks displays have been canceled.

ReplyDeleteI have heard of people who are not going back to work because they are making more on unemployment. It's a sad comment on what we pay some essential workers. I also know that there are some who are taking advantage simply out of greed and I am going to be angry if I hear any of them dissing those who legitimately need the help of welfare programs when this is over.

ReplyDeleteI am staying home for the next four days. We have enough food to survive. I have plenty to do around here and a stack of books to read. All the 4th of July activities have been cancelled, with the exception of one small town to the south that insists on having its aerial display of fireworks but no one will be allowed into the stadium to sit and watch. Have no idea how that will play out. Our virus numbers are through the roof, more deaths in one month than the whole three months before. People think the virus is gone. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI just noticed today that my kitchen calendar was still on June...hmm-July 4th tomorrow. Same day as others-maybe watch fireworks on TV!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Quite an uproar about people coming in and bringing COVID-19. Everyone local is asking really important questions. We know how folks act on vacation!
ReplyDeleteNo plans here either. My neighbors may set off a few fireworks but that is even doubtful. Actually that pleases Callie a lot. She is terrified of loud noises.

ReplyDeleteWe are having a quiet 4th of July this year. Family invited us down south but we said not this year and they understood why. We don't go anywhere without our masks and are very careful. We have curtailed our trips out unless it's absolutely necessary. For the most part we have seen others wearing theirs. Wishing you, Art, your Mom and family a very safe, healthy and happy 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteI'm working, but my patient isn't sleeping well due to neighborhood fireworks. Lots of displays were cancelled here in KC, but some small surrounding towns are still having shows.

Yes, G is still creeping along, so no matter how careful we are, we aren't going out. It's good to be home again even if G isn't well.
