Blog Family Conversation

On my Friday Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich post, blog buddy, Doug of Apache Dug's Teepee wrote a reply on Patti's comment of The New Sixty  He apologized for doing so.

Granted, now he's making me want to get a bottle of Jif. However, Art usually insists on an organic brand. I had Skippy's because we were eating down some hurricane prep supplies.

Anyway, what I wanted everybody to understand is that I really enjoy anyone going ahead and jumping in to write replies to any comment for the fun of it. Obviously that's only if you're doing so with friendship and kindness. If you're not nice, I will erase you. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

By the way, this cartoon is not Doug. Doug looks more like Matthew Broderick. ๐Ÿ˜

So please, please... absolutely feel free to jump in and add additional replies to anybody's comment.

And then, if you see a reply to a comment and another person's reply to that reply, go ahead and jump in. It will be a blog family conversation.

And this means you, Doug. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  1. If you take the first comment literally and out of context (which kind of follows), it is very interesting.

  2. This is a lovely idea, Kay.
I lost the ability to embed comments on my blog with the new and improved even though it is still checked on my settings -- a minor annoyance perhaps but an annoyance all the same. When I get over my pique that everything tech has to change as soon as I finally master it, I will investigate further. Although don't anyone hold your breath, I am still mourning the loss of Word Perfect.

  3. I like Jif too, Kay. I eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches ever once in awhile. Peanut butter is loaded with protein. I don't eat a lot of meat so that supplements that loss.

  4. It is a blog family, isn't it. We buy Smuckers because there's no added salt or sugar, just peanuts. We like chunky, too.

  5. I use a generic supermarket brand peanut butter, also many other types including a natural kind.

  6. Kay you are funny & sweet, thank you! I enjoy some of these blogs so much, when someone like yourself posts something fun I like to return thru the day to see what others are saying. That day day you & Art were eating peanut butter sandwiches in Egypt and feeding everyone else will go down in history as wow whatta blog! BTW, right now I am eating peanut butter & raspberry preserves I think it's my favorite combination :-)

    1. ApacheDug: My all time favorite is pineapple preserves and crunchy Skippy...but now will have to buy a jar of Jif to see what the difference is!!! :)

    2. Hmmm... pineapple preserves? I am going to have to look for some. That sounds really good.

    3. I talk too much but WendyfromNY's sandwich suggestion sounds so good! I just added pineapple preserves to my shopping list for tomorrow, thanks Wendy :)

  7. I like natural peanut butter Adams brand-you do have to stir it but there no added sugar in it! Wonderful on hot toast.

    1. I'm an Adams lover too, but I can find No Stir at my store. If I don't get that, I end up with oil all over my counter and myself. :)

  8. For our family it is Jif all the way. I also agree about the strawberry preserves (Smuckers brand) but haven't tried the butter. Now I will because I do believe ApacheDug is an expert. I must add that another family favorite is peanut-butter and mustard sandwiches but never for breakfast.

    1. Haha Granny thank you--I was going to say something else but my brain froze up after I read peanut butter & mustard, what the--!?? I've HEARD of peanut butter & mayo, but mustard is a first for me! Maybe I'll toast my bread & try it!

    2. My sister used to eat mustard and syrup on bread!

    3. Oh my gosh! Mustard and syrup? Wow! Then again... I'm thinking maybe it might be good. Hmmm...

  9. Ha ha, thanks Doug. Now I don't have to Google how to make one. I have the Jif but was pretty sure my jelly on tap, Orange Marmalade, wasn't going to cut it:)
I get those add on comments all the time on my blog and I love the fact that others feel free to comment on a comment.

    1. Patti you're one smart cookie and God knows I love orange marmalade but it's a bit too bitter for peanut butter--but that's just my opinion :^) As for comments, when you do a post Patti I wind up going back 2-3 times to read all the ones you get!

  10. Out here in rural America, our store has a plastic bin of shelled peanuts with a grinder attached to the bottom. You just grab a plastic container, hold it underneath and press the button until you have as much peanut butter as you desire. It just doesn't get any better than that.

    1. My parents used to do that kind of peanut butter. Perhaps it's still available in certain stores here. I was shocked the last time I shopped for peanut butter. There is SO much added to it that doesn't seem to belong. Most brands have salt which I understand. But if I can avoid more sugar or other additives, I certainly will!

  11. I'm an Adams No Stir person, although I've eaten many peanut butters in my life. Homemade freezer jam is the best, preferably berry. Raspberry is my favorite although my sister-in-law makes a delicious loganberry jam.

    1. Heeey! Adams is the brand that Art buys too. But he has to stir it up.

  12. Thanks for the info Kay! Hmmm, I usually buy low-fat brands of peanut butter. Might try that raspberry combination though. Linda in Kansas

  13. Funny how we all have our opinions about peanut butter and it's actually a SAFE topic to discuss and disagree over. :-) My preference - super chunk peanut butter and Smuckers seedless raspberry jam, both heavily applied. A half sandwich will do.

  16. OH MY! This is so much fun. I feel like we’re all having a chat. I’m a little late coming in. It’s 10:35 AM here, but I was experimenting with Jalna’s fruitcake without candied fruit this morning. I’m trying just regular dried fruit. Fingers crossed.

    1. Sad to say, Mondays are my fasting day of the week and I SO want a PBJ right now!

Looking forward to your experiment with dried fruit in fruitcake. Your candied fruit one was delicious!

  17. Nice to have a friendly chit chat site to ease the pain of the insanity outside. Using just dried fruit instead of candied sounds so much better. Hope it's tasty! Linda in Kansas

    1. I just wrote my post for tomorrow about just that. Art thought I was crazy when I first proposed doing it.

  18. Well in the interest of stirring up discussion, I'll say straight off that I'm not a PB and J fan. I will eat them in a pinch, but generally speaking, I'd prefer a sliced tomato or avocado sandwich. But...as a child, my mother used to eat peanut butter and sliced dill pickle sandwich. They were good.

  19. I also don't eat peanut butter these days, because I need to spend my calories on foods I really like, and PB&J has never fit that category. However, just the other day I bought some almond butter and am enjoying it on thin-sliced bread. This whole thread sure is fun, though. Doug is one of my favorite commenters.
