Blogging Hint

A dear friend of mine recently texted me that she knew I'd written a post about a mattress pad experience but wasn't able to locate when I'd written it.

I felt awful for her since I've been writing on this blog now since 2008. I've written over 3,600 posts. In fact, I can't even remember what I've posted about. I KNOW I've repeated myself tons of times and I apologize for that.

Anyway, I showed her how to locate something on my blog the next time she wants to search for a particular topic.

See that little box to the left? You can type what you're looking for and it will bring up all the posts on that topic.

It's helped me tons of times when I try to figure out if I've already written about that particular topic.

Hmmm... I wonder if I've already written about this. Could be... 😆

  1. I do this often when looking for an old post. I’ve been doing this since 2006. Without the search there would be no way to find anything…like FB. Once posted there, you’ll never find it again.

  2. I didn't even know that was possible. Never too old to learn something new.

  3. I didn't know about that. But I do have a Search this Blog widget which I've used myself to find topics I've posted about.

  4. I use that search feature all the time, and have explained it to many readers. I've been at it since 2006.

  6. I've been doing my blog since 2008 as well. I knew about the search box, but have rarely used it.

  7. I discover that index also and enjoyed showing my grand daughter Rory who is 11 all photos of herself since she was born as I have blogged for 15 years...

  8. I have used the search box before. I can relate to the not remembering what I've written about in the past.

  9. Do all blogs have that? Or just certain platforms? I'll have to go look at my own blog!

    1. Margaret, all Blogger (Blogspot) blogs have the default search window at the top. It does come in handy!

  10. I use that search bar on my own blog a lot, mostly recipes.

    1. You are so very welcome. I’m very touched that you are coming to visit me via this blog. I wish we could do so in person but with that 893 infection count yesterday we will be locking ourselves down again.

  12. Feb 2018 gives us all the information we ever wanted to know about mattress pads and toppers too.
Blogs and Journals. My older ones sit in boxes in the garage....1974 on.

  13. I use if for much the same reason but also to see when it was that I had company, caught a cold or took the dog to the vet. It is a great memory aid.

    Thanks!

  15. I've used the box on the left many times to check and see what I said. I wouldn't want to contradict myself!!!

  16. WE need a new mattress and I am debating if we should just get anew expensive topper instead.

  17. I have a search box on both my blogs, and I use them frequently. Glad to see you've got one, too. :-)

  18. I use that search box a lot. Often just to find an archived photo.
I hope you stay safe! Our numbers are rising a bit, too.

I really LOVE hearing from you! However, if you sign in as ANONYMOUS, please don't forget to tell me who you are in the comment box by just writing your first name. We would all appreciate it if you kept your comment respectful and kind.

I’m using Comment Moderation for any post that is more than a day old because of aggravating SPAM. Therefore, if your comment does not go up on an older (more than a day old) post, it's because I need to OK it first. I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
