We were driving along one day and saw a strange sight. At first, I wasn't sure if that really was a man walking with something on his head.
Can you imagine?
I wondered if maybe it's actually easy to balance a water bottle on your head and walk at a brisk pace like he was.
Soooo.....
I got a bottle of water, put it on my head and tried walking.
I was able to take about 4 steps and the bottle fell.
Go ahead. You try it. Let me know how you do. 😄 I dare you.
Wait, maybe I need a hat.
POSTSCRIPT:
Hey... We figured out the trick! Just fill the bottle about 1/3 to 1/2 full and then walk. I could walk at least 25 steps before it fell. Granted I did it in the kitchen where there were no bumps in the road or wind.

Well, it appears his hands are full so maybe that's the reason for the balancing act.
ReplyDeleteNo photos of your attempt?! :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe he forgot he set it up there! I'm sorry, I'm at a loss for words here :^)
ReplyDeletePerhaps he has a hat that came with an attached bottle :-)

Too funny! Totally boggled my mind.
DeleteMaybe he couldn't afford one of those hats with the attached mug with hoses to your mouth, usually for beer. He has a water bottle in the waistline of his fanny pack. What's in the trash bag he's carrying? I don't see a dog attached, where the poo is collected in a plastic bag. Wearing black and gloves, in the sun. Not your average walker. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely one of the strangest things I've seen in our neighborhood.
DeleteIt takes all kinds.
ReplyDeleteHe was definitely running out of hands and he must have great posture to keep that bottle up there.
ReplyDeleteThere are entire cultures that prefer to carry things on their heads. In a way, it is far more superior in terms of ergonomics and energy expended to carry something on your head than in your hands in front of you.
ReplyDeleteBut I would still only make four or five steps too without a lot of practice.
I think someone would have to have a really toned torso to keep still enough to balance something like that.
ReplyDeletea hat would definitely help...lol!
ReplyDeleteI have terrible balance, so I wouldn't even make it 4 steps!
ReplyDeleteNope, no thanks. LOl
ReplyDeletevery strange.
ReplyDeleteAt a total loss for words!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sight to make one smile!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. When I walk my dogs later today, I think I might try my coke zero bottle. lol I know I can't balance a bottle on my head. But it is an idea.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he had velcro on the bottom and top??
ReplyDeleteUm, not sure what to make of this. But without stick um. that bottle would not stay on my head. I'm having trouble keeping myself upright.
ReplyDeletePeculiar.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up. Seniors need all the help they can get when it comes to balance.
