OK... Looks like it's happening to me too. My brain is getting fogged out. I'm stuck at home with no adventures and finding it hard to come up with a topic that I haven't already written about.
Therefore, I'll now be reducing my posts to three times a week. I guess Monday, Wednesday, Friday sounds like a good number.
Thank you to all the wonderful friends who have been trying to give me ideas so I could keep up the Monday-Friday pace. You know who you are.
For today, I'd like to share this video with you. When I was teaching 1st grade (quite a while ago), a new book came out called Love You Forever by Robert Munch. I have a feeling many of my retired teachers will remember this book.
When I read the book so long ago I teared up to the point that I was crying. WHY? WHY? It's actually quite silly. You'll see when you watch this video. But for some unknown reason it makes you cry.
I haven't been an everyday blogger for years! I don't even have a pattern of using the same days all the time. I feel like I blog for myself, really, rather than others. I follow you on Bloglovin', so I will know when you post. Recently I saw there was an entry on a man's blog who hadn't blogged for at least seven years; now he blogs every two or three weeks. But I get the notice he's had something to say, and I go read it. I will know when you post an entry and I will be here to read it, thanks to Bloglovin'.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought a book for one of my great granddaughters called "It Will Be O.K.".It has a great lesson about fear.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't blog every day, my son in law texts me to see if I am still alive.
ReplyDeleteI read a book to my granddaughter a few years ago and blubbed all of the way through it. It is a bit of challenge to make ordinary things interesting. Sometimes, incidental ordinary things come to mind during the day, and I try to note them. Otherwise I will forget.
ReplyDeleteI understand about running out of ideas. Some days I feel like I'm almost there myself.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I cried every time she sang the song. I want to send this book to my daughter and son , too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us know about this heartfelt book.
Oh Kay I will share this touching video with the new parents I know so touching. Thanks for letting us know your new plans for posting
ReplyDeleteKay, We totally understand. I don't post every day anymore either. I post when I have something I want to say or share. Kay, what a touching video, I cried too!
ReplyDeleteTotally understand dialing back on posting. It hit me also and now I only do once a week. Blogging should be fun, not a job. I still visit others everyday and sometimes they will blog about something that strikes a cord so I go put that idea in my drafts for later. Otherwise, I just enjoy the process. Hope you find that level also.
ReplyDeleteThat book would have made me cry also, especially reading it to first graders. The song explains that no matter what, the love stays. Great for youngsters to hear.
That's very understandable Kay to slow down your blogging. We'll still look forward to any of your entries. (I bet now you'll have more adventures too.) Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteOh My. I am seriously going to miss your voice with my morning coffee. I stopped posting on a regular schedule years ago, and I truly understand your cutting back on your blogging. Hugs from here.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone. Shore acres writes today about the loss of her muse.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfectly ok to slow down.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get back to traveling again you'll find you have something to share. I'm amazed that you have kept up the 5 days a week. I can't say that I'm very regular.
ReplyDeleteDear Kay, Blogger has changed the header back to the old way of adding one. It's easy to change your header again. 1100 is the width I use.
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank you, Mage!
DeleteYou are welcome. :)
DeleteI write three posts a week, every Sunday on one blog, and two days a week on the other. I cut back long ago. I always look forward to hearing your unique voice in my news feed, though. Sending you lots of virtual hugs!
ReplyDeleteI have to look at some Robert Munch books. My daughter always talked about them. You know what you're satisfied with when it comes to posting. Sometimes it's hard to come up with topics.
ReplyDeleteThat book was very special, the narrator's singing was especially sweet. Kay I'm glad you're not pulling your hair out to write 5 days a week. I never knew how you did it, sometimes I can't come up with one a week.
ReplyDeleteI blog when I feel like, sometimes once a day, other times a couple times a week. During the pandemic I've been writing more about less. I have a couple books that I can't get through reading out loud and several pieces of music that make me cry every time. Samuel Barber's "Adagio" is one.
ReplyDeleteYou will like your new schedule with much more freedom in the week for you. I blog erratically - sometimes a lot, sometimes not for a long time. The book was a bit strange and silly. I couldn't relate to it after the child became older - imagining myself sneaking in to carry my teenage son and sing to him if he was sleeping. But, it was a sweet message.
ReplyDeleteI did not know of this book, watched the whole video, and , yes, tears in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely.
I do know this book.
ReplyDeleteGenerally I keep to one post a week in my writer's blog, but daily in my photo blog.
You are brave to write so often. I barely get a post out twice a month!! I know that if you want readers you are supposed to post often, but I get the blahs and can't think of anything interesting.
ReplyDeleteYes, my eyes teared up.
ReplyDeleteI had some moisture in my eyes, too, and sent a link to this book to my son, daughter. As for lessening the frequency of your postings, i’ll look forward to reading whatever you choose to write, however frequently. I altered my postings frequency several times since I started. Now I think I need to shorten the content but haven't managed to do that yet — had so much fun with my current one.
ReplyDeleteWinnie the Pooh: “Wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.” I always cry. Every single time.
ReplyDeleteI remember that book. i used to blog daily also for many years then every other day and now it's like every other week. But it's okay. i'm on FACEBOOK and get lots of interaction there daily. You can't do it all.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet video. They will always be our babies won't they?
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Definitely.
DeleteWe love Robert Munsch, but I cannot read this book, out loud or to myself! The first time I read it, I picked it up at the bookstore, my baby was probably 8 months old at the time, and I ended up sobbing in the aisle :D.
ReplyDeleteI know. Isn’t it the weirdest thing? I’m not even an easy crier, but there’s something mysterious about that book that does it every time.
DeleteI just write when I feel like it. I know you like to write ahead and write a lot at once and then post once a day. I couldn't do it. As soon as I write something, I want to post it. Now that life has become more active outside of the house, I don't seem to have as much time to write. My journals are not seeing as much activity either. The days end so quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that man! I sued his books in my classrooms all the time.
