It was now Monday, April 17th. We'd seen the night before on the Apple app that Art's luggage had moved from Frankfurt to San Francisco. That was promising.
But when we looked again on Monday morning, the luggage was now in Moanalua Valley here on Oahu and had not moved all night. When Art called the Honolulu Airport, they said his luggage was still at the airport, not Moanalua Valley.
Hmmm...😟
Now this was concerning.
Eventually, Art got a phone call from the United delivery person who said he'd picked up the luggage the night before at the airport and just brought it home to bring to us the next day.
So I guess there was nothing to worry about. Perhaps the AirTags gave us more information than we needed to know?
Nah...
With our traveling track record, I still like knowing where our luggage, carry-on, backpack, etc. are.
And so ends our travel saga until next time. 😀
The luggage losing problem is another thing that disgusts me about flying. There has got to be a better way of handling it. And this is Margie of Margie's Musings...not Anonymous!!!

ReplyDeleteI so loathe people who cram stuff in overhead bins. The problem is when they lose your luggage, it is most inconvenient! I'm glad you got it back.

ReplyDeleteThere have been several high profile stories in the news of people losing their baggage and using airtags to find it in personal residences of other people.

ReplyDeleteHate the thought of losing luggage... that's why I usually do carry on, but it gets difficult to even do this as we get older. Lifting that carryon onto an overhead bin isn't easy. So glad you finally got your luggage.

The last time I went to see my daughter in Seattle, my bags didn't make it and I was so frustrated because I had frozen miso butterfish from Okuhara Foods in it as well as some other perishables. The next night, at midnight, my son-in-law drove over to the Seattle airport to retrieve my bags. The fish had defrosted but was still slightly chilled. We made deliveries immediately the next morning - some of them to her neighbors that weren't the intended recipients, but they were very happy to get such a wonderful dinner entree.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got your luggage back. I have just bought a set of these tags, one for my purse and for future travel. People are putting them on their dogs' collars also.

I've been lucky during my flights but I've only flown four times
ReplyDeleteNightmare and now I am worried about my upcoming Hawaii trip!! We are traveling to Oahu, Kauai AND Maui over just two weeks! I like that luggage tag idea, but maybe it is too stressful to know about near and far.
