POSTSCRIPT:
By the way, we got our additional updated COVID vaccine yesterday at CVS.
We didn't know about it until our friends told us they'd gotten it. We had our last updated COVID vaccine in October, 2023.
This is what I found on the CDC website:
- People aged 65 years and older who received 1 dose of any updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or Novavax) should receive 1 additional dose of an updated COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months after the previous updated dose. For more Novavax information, click or tap here.
As a lifelong Chicagoan, I can confirm that the list of seasons is correct.

ReplyDeleteLife in the Midwest isn't for the feint of heart or the thin skinned when it comes to weather. I've also never heard of someone say they are bored of a particular type of weather either. Here, we are always ready for the next of 12 seasons!

ReplyDeleteI got my Covid shot yesterday; my arm is sore (not bad) but otherwise, no side effects. I've seen the same thing for my region but without as many added "seasons." LOL

ReplyDeleteI suppose having pseudo weather patterns helps to get through the cold and heat - or not. We are just too spoiled. Years ago when my son was in college in Japan, he brought a classmate for a visit to Hawaii. He loved the weather and commented that there were only 10 good days of weather in Japan. I couldn't believe that!

ReplyDeleteAs for COVID vaccinations, we will be getting #8 in May, six months after vaccination #7. Will this ever end?
Chicago's weather is a lot like Denver's and eastern Colorado, I think. We were there in Fort Morgan, where Jill lived, for Easter one year. On Saturday, for the egg hunt, it was freezing cold and windy. On Sunday it was sunny, calm, and 80 degrees.
ReplyDeleteEveryone seems to be having strange weather these days. We had our updated Covid shot a month ago, also had the flu and the pneumonia shot last week and the week before that, all this on the recommendation of our doctor.

ReplyDeleteWe got our last Covid vaccine (#5) in September '23. Wasn't aware we needed another till the Fall. Will have to check into this. Thanks, Kay. (BTW, just found out that our son and DIL have Covid - guess it's going to stay around forever).
ReplyDeleteBritish diplomats used to get tropical differential in their pay for serving in Washington, DC during the summer back in the days before air conditioning!
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor reminded me in December and we went for the Covid and RSV. We were a 10 days too late for that one, the next day one grandchild was diagnosed with RSV.
