This is very goofy and I don't know how we can correct this. One of Art's cousins who we actually don't often see, recently wanted to call and thank us in response to a sympathy card we'd sent. She remarked that it brought her to the edge of tears because not many people actually take the time to write a personal message in a sympathy card these days. I have to say it is always one of the most difficult cards to write.
She didn't have our phone number so she looked it up online and said there were a lot of people with his name. Art laughed and told her it was all him. He's the only one in the U.S. with his name.
After their loving conversation, I thought I'd look up Art's name and was surprised to see this Linkedin website.
What the heck?!?
Let me make this clear.
Art is NOT an Independent Construction Professional!
I don't know how we can contact them to take this off their website.
OK, it's true Art has done a lot of construction work on our house. This was in Illinois.
We had the construction company put up the shell for an addition to our 3 bedroom home. They added a family room, a master bedroom and bathroom on top.
It took Art (I helped along with many, many awesome friends) about 7 years to finish the project on nights and weekends.
And then he added a deck that skunks and racoons liked to live under. 😏
And when we moved to Hawaii, we again hired a contractor to build a shell and it took Art (with many family members, friends, and me) another 5 years to complete.
Wait... hey...
Maybe he IS an independent construction (in his opinion) professional. 😂

That's the thing about home construction projects as they take forever if you're doing it yourself. I can barely did the maintenance on my house by the time I have
ReplyDeleteMaybe he had limited choices when he made that, and that description fit the best?
ReplyDeleteNope, he never created that account.
DeleteI know some retired people who added fake occupations to their social media sites. Do you think Art might have done it and forgot?
ReplyDeleteThese crazy web sites!
ReplyDeleteI am the opposite of Art. There are a ton of people with my name but I like it that way. It helps keep me somewhat anonymous online which I like in these days where all your personal information seems so readily accessible.
ReplyDeleteFunny! -Christine cmlk79
ReplyDeleteKay, I get comments from Linked too... and as far as I know, have never joined.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. I'm no help since I don't understand Linked In at all. I've heard that there are a number of scams on there now though.
ReplyDeleteThat IS funny. But actually, they need a new category for Art. His profession is "Everything!"
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWell, if Art is a professional contractor, even being independent, maybe you should up his pay?
It is interesting how social media types us. Facebook has me as an African American Jew. I don't know how it deciphered either of those except that I do have friends that are African American and I do have some Jewish friends. Oh well, I have enjoyed following a Jewish home cooking site on Facebook. I would cook very little of the food. I'm a Southern cook and my family likes what we grew up eating. But I do get tickled when people carry on about eating different sorts of pickles as a vegetable. I am just guessing; but I think native Hawaiians are like those of us in the Southeast in that vegetable meals are pretty standard during the summer.
ReplyDeleteTell Art, my house is on a 5 year remodeling plan. I'll text him for tips.
the internet doesn't sort things out for us.
ReplyDeleteVery curious indeed. Now that the word is out, I hope Art isn't inundated with applications! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that he's the only U.S. person with his name! Totally cool. Yep, it looks like his photos qualify him for professional construction more than EPA. I became exhausted just looking at all of those projects! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI have a Linked In account I never made, also. It's a busy place, though.
ReplyDeleteI can see why the confusion, he is brilliant at this.
ReplyDeleteIs it YOUR contact information connected to that linked in profile? That's crazy. And a little scary.
