We were rather sad to lose Wendy, our regular mail carrier last week. But Art met Matt, our new mail carrier and said he was very nice too.
I don't normally post on Tuesdays anymore but wanted to post this today after I saw this Blondie comic strip in the Honolulu Star Advertiser.
And you know what? Just for fun, I left this little bag of treats for Matt. 😄 I wonder if he'll be surprised because I don't think many people know about this special day for them.
The other envelope I'm sending out? It's the Sunday comics that I periodically send my grandsons overseas. 😁
Good to know! We also have a new mail carrier. He doesn't look happy. Maybe a little treat in the mailbox for him today with a thank you note will make him feel a bit better.
ReplyDeleteIf you live in a Canadian subdivision that is less than 25 years old, you don't have a mail carrier per se. You have a nearby set of dropboxes.
ReplyDeleteI don't know our carrier. It seems like I have a new one every few weeks so it makes it hard to develop any sort of bond or relationship.
ReplyDeleteWe've had the same guy for a long time; he's very friendly. I like the idea of a gift but I have nothing. :(

ReplyDeleteI don't know our mail carrier. He/she comes in a little mail truck and our box is way out at the street about 300 feet away from the house. I see that you have a regular mail box, with outgoing mail. We have an extra strong locking mail box and all of our out going mail is dropped in a big postal box up by the grocery store. Mail is not sacred to too many folks here anymore.

ReplyDeleteIt's very surprising how many people leave things for the mail man. I was a paper boy at age 65 and was surprised to get things at Christmas.

ReplyDeleteI rarely see our carrier, since he pulls up beside the mail lockers, distributes it, and then leaves.
ReplyDeleteOur carrier is a gem. If there is a parcel too big for the box, he drives up the laneway and puts it on the porch. Above and beyond.
