Now that the Strait of Hormuz is blockaded, a lot of countries have been impacted.

Unfortunately, it’s not just the U.S. that is suffering from the higher gas prices for our vehicles due to the Hormuz blockade.
It was surprising that Japan, although it does have an oil reserve for now, do rely on importing oil from other countries. Apparently it’s impacting Japan's supply of plastics and inks which are derived from oil.
What a surprise that Calbee had to change the packaging for their potato chips from color to black and white.
I guess everything the US does when it wages a war impacts a lot of other countries also in ways we don’t even know.

DeleteIt seems that the price of everything is going to go up and soon we will feel shortages. Oil and its byproducts are in so many things we don't even think about.

PS, over 6,000 other products are made from petroleum waste by-products.

ReplyDeleteI listened to a Gulf Oil Executive sounding the alarm. The US is rapidly depleting its emergency oil reserves, something which will leave us vulnerable. Hegseth and Trump are burning through our missiles which will make it difficult to defend ourselves...we will have very little in reserve. And yet there are people who still back him. I do not understand it.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely wild about the Calbee potato chip bags turning black and white, and it really drives home how interconnected everything is in ways we never think about until a crisis hits. It is easy to just think about gas prices at the pump when a major shipping lane like the Strait of Hormuz gets blockaded, but realizing a conflict can deplete a country's supply of packaging ink is a huge eye-opener. It really makes you wonder what other surprising everyday shortages are brewing behind the scenes as a result of these global ripple effects.

ReplyDeleteI fully agree that war are caused by powerful groups bring destruction to common people only who are completely innocent and unaware of dark regalities and selfish reasons behind them.
We live in South Asia and are facing highly negative effects of war in our country and price rise is only a minor factor to whole scenario sadly

The scary thing is that the powerful group led by a rather egocentric leader we are plagued with in the US is now trying to control the news and information people get as well.
