She quickly discovered why her mother loves shave ice as it's known on Oahu. It's called ice shave on the Big Island and snow cones in parts of the U.S. Melon and Lychee are her favorite flavors.

KC has a special stuffed dog that is referred to as her "Nene Doggie." Nene is Japanese for sleep. Nene Doggie is her special stuffed animal that comforts her when she's in a different place and helps to put her to sleep.
When we were at the Waikele Outlet Mall's Osh Kosh store, KC spotted a stuffed kitty. She called it a Kitty Kat and fell instantly in love with it. Grandpa just couldn't refuse her pleas for Kitty Kat and bought it for her. Now Kitty Kat is with her constantly everywhere she goes. Poor Nene Doggie is now relegated to being the 2nd banana. Tif went back to the store later to get a back-up Kitty Kat for her since this one is getting rather well loved and raggedy. It's all a big change since KC has always been partial to stuffed doggies of all kinds. Ah well...

Jon had a stuffed dog called Long John when he was a child and Tif loved frogs. Did you have a favorite?
The photo of Art and KC was cute, waiting patiently together. I love the idea of a doggie to help her sleep and now a kitty...My children had their "blankies", my oldest had a tiny piece left by the time he outgrew it and Ashton's blankie was well-worn, patched in places and is tucked away safely now. She informs me that she is taking her teddy bear to college though...Have a wonderful week with your dear ones!
ReplyDeleteKay;
ReplyDeleteHow precious is she(KC) adorable!
I had a poodle when I was young, my aunt made it for me and I called it Poodie (original) I loved it for a very long time until it's head came off and it went to the fix it shop never to return!
My borther Bobby had one too and I still have his! His name was Poodie too!
Have a wonderful rest of your visit with Tif and KC!
Oh, poor Nene Doggie! But she looks so in love with the Kitty, clutching it that way. My favourite was a big red mouse; my earliest memory is my father bending down to me to give it to me--I remember his dark suit and voice as I took it, I was three.
ReplyDeleteI loved it to pieces (literally) and now I do the same as Tif, buying 'backups' for my kids. But none of them have every had a favourite cuddle toy. They all liked cars, and no favourites there either. It made me a little sad really, having no 'special' toy in the house.
The photos are TOO cute!! But I'm still thinking of Nene Doggie lol
I hope Kitty Kat works its magic.
ReplyDeleteMine was a soft yellow rabbit.
I had a teddy bear...looks like you are having fun with the little one. Enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie that KC is! She and Art looked so cute standing there in the picture. That's great she found a Kitty to go with the doggie! Enjoy your next 2 weeks with her!
ReplyDeleteVery Sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...

I had a brown doggie that I dragged around everywhere until it was in tatters. I remember my mom suggesting that we throw it away and I had a fit. A while later it disappeared suspiciously and no one seemed to know what happened to it. I guess I got over it. Ha!
ReplyDeleteBetter to have a stuffed pet than a real one, I guess! I never had either as a kid.
ReplyDeleteAww, such a sweet last picture! I'd love to meet KC before she grows up.
ReplyDeleteGrand daughter Irene has her Fluffy Dog, and Isaac has a very well loved "cow".
