Art and I always get a salad at Wendy's on Thursdays after our tai chi sessions. Unfortunately, every time I get to like a certain salad, they discontinue it. Art usually has their Power Mediterranean Chicken salad and I've been ordering their Fresh Mozzarella salad since they discontinued the other salad I liked so much.
However, we both recently tried their Strawberry Mango chicken salad and really loved it. Now we both order the same thing. I've even started adding mangoes to salads when I make it for pot lucks and even blueberries.
Notice that fine print on the sign though? Sigh... Limited Time Only! This means I'll have to decide on another salad every Thursday once summer is over.
I saw that mangoes were $4.99 a pound the last time I was at the market! Good grief! I remember a time when our mango tree (50 years ago) produced so many mangoes that we couldn't give them all away. Sigh....

This one looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteTwas ever thus, methinks.
ReplyDeleteStrawberries are done here, for a year.
I wonder if we have this salad here? I always buy their hamburger though I know salads are healthier...
ReplyDeleteI love fruit in salads. I can't quite manage to deal with mangoes though. That seed defeats me every time.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have Aldi in Hawaii, that and Lidl (similar store but it's only in SC NC and VA right now) have crazy prices on produce. Pineapple was like 1.89 the other day at Lidl
ReplyDeleteHere we have a Soup Plantation that offers different themes every months. This month, lemon is the headliner. They keep their usual salads but add thing with lemon. I always miss a sa;ad when it is gone too.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that does look good. Think I will do something similar for lunch.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry. Don't have salad-makings though. Will have to settle for soup.
ReplyDeleteIf you want fresh ingredients I am sure the salads do change. Going out for dinner tonight, I should order a salad!
ReplyDeleteThere are some awesome salads made today. I eat at the salad bars.
ReplyDeleteThat does look good. People don't know how good mangoes are unless they live somewhere where they can ripen naturally. :-)
ReplyDeleteStrawberry Mango Salad? Guess I will have to go to Hawaii for this one and then, call up my friends Kay and Art and meet them for coffee! Sounds like a plan to me!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh. I wish we had a Wendy's nearby. The nearest one to us is by the airport.
ReplyDeleteSalad looks really good! Son in Michigan selected a really delicious mango at Whole Foods when I was there for my birthday a couple years ago. I haven't been able to find one as tasty since. All fruit is best if tree ripened, vine ripened, or the pineapples I had ripened where they grew. Hope Art's plants doing well. Haven't started mine yet. Hope you update their progress when fruit starts to form and grow.

I love fruits in salads!
ReplyDeleteWe usually have some kind of fruit in our green salads - apple or pear or oranges with avocado most often. That one looks good.

I must warn you that mangoes increase bleeding tendencies. I had to cut way back on my warfarin after eating a lot of mangoes.
