I remember really, really freezing days when we lived in Illinois. However, I don't think we had the sort of extra extreme days that my daughter, Tiffany and her family experienced this week.
Tiffany sent this photo to show us what the temperature was on Tuesday. It would only get worse.
Apparently our granddaughter decided to do a science project. She stepped outside and threw some very hot water into the air in order to turn it into snow. She says it worked.
She then got some soap bubbles to see if it would freeze.
It did.
The only problem was the wind kept blowing the bubbles away. They were finally able to get a video of one of the frozen bubbles that got trapped by their front doorway. (I don't know if this video will work.)

I know it's hard to see. The bubble cracked, but still kept it's shape.
I know it's crazy, but I wish I were there with them. I don't like freezing cold, but this would have been fun.

It has been quite a wintry few weeks. It is supposed to let up soon, but I don't know for how long.

ReplyDeleteIt certainly was cold in the Midwest last week. Here in Nashville we had a couple of cold days, but not that extreme. This afternoon it was back to 66 F and supposed to go to 76 F by Wednesday. The coldest I ever was is when I went to Montana one winter, it dipped down to -40 F and with the wind chill it was even colder. Just crossing the street the inside of my nose froze!
