After the frenzy of sewing this past month, I’m pretty much done. I’ve given masks to everybody I thought needed them and there are so many mask-making friends and companies now that... well... I can stop.
Granted, I still have a bunch ready to go out to people. I’m just waiting for my elastic to show up that I bought on Amazon and is coming by “slow boat” from China. My kids have joked that it's probably coming by rowboat since it's been over a month since I ordered it.
So now what? I guess I could bake something, if I had the ingredients which I don’t. I guess we’ll go shopping in another week or so for the first time in 6 weeks.
Hmmm... shall I reorganize something? Should I clean something?
What to do? What to do?

Oh Kay... we will think of something. Netflix?
ReplyDeleteYup. Already done that.
DeleteSurely you have a photo album to be working on...do you read...what's going on in your yard...do you call your friends each day or so...
ReplyDeleteI have so much to do every day, it doesn't all get done. Right now my mind is reminding me it's time to do exercises, well past time. I watered the yards early this morning. Then I did some cleaning. Oh, and some laundry. I've read one newspaper and a few blogs but there is another paper and more blogs waiting. Next week is my granddaughter's 11th birthday which means another photo book must be produced. So much to do...
I do have an album I’m adding on to in order to document this time of Coronavirus. Mom takes care of our tiny garden. Not much to do there. Sigh... But yes, there is another album I might work on....
DeleteYou made it longer than I did:)) Amazon has gotten really slow about everything. It usually takes a month now for things that once took a few days.
ReplyDeleteUh oh....
DeleteCorona virus ennui. I have no fix. I'm spending my after dinner hours knee deep in k-dramas.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! All my friends are into K-Dramas and are glued to it even before COVID-19.
Deletephotos to sort through and mke albums. Family history writing for the youngers? genealogy of any kind. Any kind of skill you have always wanted to learn. A course through the great courses. Read and actually commet n everyone's blogs. Yard work. Exercise via utube? Photograph possessions for a household inventory. Read. I have twenty five items each on my watch list ofnetflix and prime (which of course i will never watch all of them). Play scrabble online (tis a killer) or do the same with hard crosswords. Even if you are a book person, consider just for now getting the kindle app on your phone so you can read what you want to read right now, this very minut eeither through purchase or from the library. I just started doing really easy small scale card side painting from online tutorials. Yea, somethings take awhile from amazon but some do come right away.
ReplyDeleteSigh...
DeleteI’ve already scanned all our family photos and organized them by year. I’ve made tons of albums (printed some and uploaded them onto flash drives to give the kids), genealogy is done, commented on blogs, yard work is mom and Art’s domain, I have 2 Kindles and the kindle app on everything, watched some Netflix, already photographed household things for hurricane preparedness, an actual Scrabble game is on the table, I go walking with Art every morning it doesn’t rain...
But hmmm.... painting.
I could start practicing a little watercolor again.
Maybe.
Yes, I think I will. Thank you!
I will never finish with all the books lol. I had to look up k drama. Not tried yet but here in the land of the Midwest I seem to be hooked on a drama/ thrillers from Iceland and Rusdia and Norway, lol is there something you like to sew besides masks? Wh we re i live there is a charge to make cards for all the meals on wherls and locked in nursing home recipients.
DeleteI'm rereading some really old but good books. Now you know why I have so many filled bookcases.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a LOT of books, Mage. I only read my Kindle now because I like the big fonts.
DeleteYeah, time goes by quite slowly.
ReplyDeleteSoooooo sloooowly.
DeleteSome days i am ambitious and excited about the day and others ... blah. I’m not even sure why. Don’t start baking though. It’s a slippery slope!
ReplyDeleteI’m eating the cookies Art baked. They were really good. So I guess I’ll just leave it to him.
DeleteHow is Art's puzzle coming along? I just learned 5 minutes ago that Hawaii is 6 hours behind us on the East Coast... wow I thought it was half that. I learn something new everyday :)
ReplyDeleteThat 6 hour difference is easy to forget. My son and family are in Maryland. He did tell me he does silence his phone though after a certain hour so I’m OK. I think.
DeleteArt’s going rather fast on that puzzle actually. He doesn’t really want anyone to help him now. I think he’ll be done in another day or two.
I actually had an idea to work on my mother’s family history album. However I did it before I figured out how to get photo books printed. Then my aunt in Japan gave me more older photos to add so it all needs to be redone. Soooo... I thought I would do it. BUT I was not looking forward to that job which would be really mind bending. So I mentioned it to my brother who is a graphic artist and said I was going to do it. I wondered if he had any input. Well, he says he’ll be retiring so he would like to do it. I was REALLY REALLY happy about that, but now I’ll have to think of something else.
ReplyDeleteI think of cooking or baking and then I think about ingredients and shake my head resignedly.
ReplyDeleteMy supplies are low now too.
DeletePlenty to keep me busy here, enough to wear me out every day even.
ReplyDeleteI know, you could get up really and walk with Art and then nap in the afternoon?
You DO have a that amazingly beautiful garden to keep you both busy every single day.
DeleteI wouldn't say I'm bored Kay but some new stimulus is certainly needed
ReplyDeleteYour post about Art and the jigsaw (and something mentioned in the comments) has given me something else to while away the time. And fodder for a blog post lol
As we say here - You'll be right!
I'm sure something will turn up to see you through:)
I’m really enjoying that online jigsaw puzzle page that Thickethouse mentioned. It’s even got a timer to see if you can improve your time. Art and I are now challenging each other on who can do it faster. He won. He has more practice.
DeleteI read a lot and watch favorite shows. I try to do a water color every day and if it ever warms up enough I will work on my deck garden. I do online silver sneakers exercises....I am remembering more than usual and am a bit weepier than usual but I'm also enjoying watching the spring come to Ohio. I do online jigsaw puzzles and solitaire games.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that online jigsaw puzzle site. We are really loving it!
Deletewe're still working on the yard and playing games-cards-skip bo, rummy kub and quiddler-fun and it engages us.
ReplyDeleteI did take out the Scrabble game, but Art is too busy working on his puzzle yet. He’s almost done though.
DeleteI agree, I agree. I need sprung.
ReplyDeleteYou’re lucky you have your beautiful weaving to do, Joanne.
DeleteI went through my file cabinet and organized it and that took me at least a week.
ReplyDeleteOh ho! Yesss! My file cabinet! That’s a great idea.
DeleteYou asked a very open ended question. some people will probably have some good ideas for you! Yes, things I could have done have not been done.
ReplyDeleteYou’re right! I’m going to attack my file cabinet tomorrow.
DeleteGoodness busy lady! Are there any outdoor areas or open parks you're permitted to go to? It'd be nice for a local to see parts of Oahu that are too bothersome to see when the visitors have invaded the sites. You might have to pack a picnic though. The beach? Linda stuck in Kansas
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, someone was asking if they would delay the time they opened up parks and allowed tourists in so that locals could enjoy the areas without tourists there. Parks are open only for exercise right now and not more than 10 people in a group. The beach is also only for crossing to the water and walking. You can’t linger yet.
DeleteHave you looked for some Zumba classes on YouTube? Not the same as being with friends in a class, but it helps to keep up with exercise.
DeleteHmmm... I should, shouldn’t I? Unfortunately, I’m not self motivated. I need friends around to push me. Sigh...
DeleteMy husband just ordered two masks from a local seamstress ($10 @). What a time.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much a hermit, and don't miss people. We have so many yahoos in summer! I miss eating on the patio, though!
That appears to be the going rate from what I’m seeing.
DeleteI miss my old life but still hold out hope that one day I will be able to go back to the gym and even spend some time socializing at the coffee shop. At least the weather is getting warm and going for walks continues unabated. And I am really enjoying my two-times-a-week Zoom yoga classes. :-)
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping and hoping for the vaccine to be created soon...
DeleteLife goes on … but differently.
ReplyDeleteWe keep busy, but I am so looking forward to seeing the family and grandchildren in person … when rules allow.
All the best Jan
