I have often teased Art about his snoring. He's been tested for sleep apnea and been diagnosed with such a mild case that it was unnecessary to provide treatment.
I'm often just jealous that he can fall asleep immediately and pretty much stay asleep. My Fitbit and his Apple Watch records how much sleep we get as well as how good a rest it was and his sleep is far superior to mine.
But he does snore and sometimes it does bother me enough that I have to gently rouse him so that he can move onto his side.
When I complain mention his snoring, he tells me that I make noises too. In fact, I do at times wake him with my sleep talking. Oh... true... I did once punch him during a nightmare.
But I don't snore. I don't.
It's true that I've recorded Art's snoring just to prove to him how much he snores. True. True.
Fortunately, we are both quiet sleepers here.
ReplyDeleteI have trouble figuring out how to comment with your new comment box. My daughter tells me I snore but my Bob was so deaf, he never complained.
ReplyDeleteThis is so weird because my comment box is the same. I haven’t changed it.
DeleteGood to know, in the digital age proof is available to this perennial question in relationships! I’m told that I moan. There is no doubt that Paul snores, loud enough to raise the roof rafters. I say no doubt because he occasionally is so loud he wakes himself up!
ReplyDeleteI like your description of non-snoring.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard myself snore ... so I must not snore!
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have had the exact same string of events.
ReplyDeleteRon called my snoring "purring". My kids laughed because they said my snoring shook the house.
ReplyDeleteLucky you Kay, I snore terribly.
ReplyDeleteMy God Kay, you are too funny! Well, I live alone and sleep alone, but I used to wake myself up when I snored! Over time I learned I only snore it if I sleep on my back, so now I sleep on my right side. I only wish I could fall asleep fast like Art, you know I love the guy but that's a bit irksome! >:^\
ReplyDeleteNow if you could just hum a tune:) Maybe you ought to get one of those sleep number beds that will automatically raise up the head of the snoring person so they stop. But then you may find yourself waking up in an upright position also:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very common topic of debate among couples. It happens around here.
ReplyDeleteIf you're humming, maybe you're just getting in some yoga or meditation during your sleep hours...

I don't think I make noise when I sleep, but then Tom is usually so sound asleep that he wouldn't know. He had a severe snoring problem, had enough diagnosed sleep apnea to qualify, and had throat surgery. It was very painful and there are after effects but he seldom snores anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that Art recorded you on his watch!
I snore. He snores. Very unromantic. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to poke my husband when he snored. He said I snored too, but I don't believe it.
ReplyDeleteMy guy used to snore, but he doesn't any more, since I would rouse him each time. Plus he's lost some weight, which helps. Now he just breathes, sometimes heavily enough to wake me. But I don't complain about it, because I sure don't want him to stop breathing! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I both sometimes snort. Plus there is the problem of kicking or touching my partner. We fixed our problems about seven years ago. We decided on separate bedrooms. The problem is gone. We still have an extra bedroom for our daughter.
ReplyDeleteSnoring is in the ear of the beholder :-)
ReplyDeleteApparently I talk in my sleep.
ReplyDeleteI know couples with separate bedrooms and couples still in the same bed. I may make a survey, some day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I snore too and so does hubby but then it's doable...I nap during the day-lol!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend tells me that I'm a quiet sleeper. He sometimes snores--but not always. I think it just depends on his position.
ReplyDeleteBetter snoring than other more odorous emissions 😁
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh so hard. I generally don't mind my husband's snoring when I am sleepy, but if my mind is working overtime, and I am trying to ratchet myself down, his snoring is a dreadful bother.
ReplyDeleteYou are funny! We both snore.
