It boggles my mind to think that 16 years have passed since I started my blog on February 29, 2008. It was a leap year. I remember then reading posts of some bloggers who had been writing for 5 years and thought that was a long time to blog.
My granddaughter was not even 2 years old when we sadly left Illinois. Two grandsons would be born in Maryland several years later.
There was quite a bit of traveling. We took my mother on several trips which she thoroughly loved.
The years have flown by faster than I could ever have imagined.
Our hair is grayer and thinner. Art doesn't do marathons anymore. I don't walk very far. But I guess we're still traveling since I am married to someone who just loves to explore the world. We'll see where it takes us this year.

ReplyDeleteHappy blog-a-versary! There are not many of us who have been doing it that long and sadly, we are getting fewer every year. My goal is to at least continue until my 25th which is only 4 years away.

ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary. How quickly fly the years. I started in November 2007. WordPress sent me a congratulatory note this past November. I never would have guessed I would still be doing this all these years later. Kind of like reading to first graders. This is year 10 for that activity. One never knows where life will take us.

DeleteHow strange that the signature line didn't show up! Yes, it's me! I was chatting with the home liaison at school this week when I signed in. Her daughter graduates from high school in June and she said the time was crawling for her as she is so excited to be graduating. I told her, just wait. The older we get, the faster the time passes.

Well , you haven't change that much. Your friends would still recognize you. However, I can tell you that time passes by rapidly. I've been retired for 27 years. I retired in 1997.

I started blogging in July 2008 which was shortly after you. My daughter had been blogging then and I learned it from her. She gave it up long ago but I've tried to keep it going despite two major moves.
ReplyDeleteBlogaversary? The anniversary of one's first blog post – got it! I don’t know when is my blogaversary as I erased some of the early ones. My blog started as an assignment of the English Writing Course of the nearby university which I took in 2009. (Local people were welcomed to be part of it.) I continued blogging after finishing the course in half a year and changed it gradually to a photo blog. I’m happy to make your acquaintance, Kay. Excuse me for not writing a comment on each post. English writing is challenging and time-consuming to me. Keep blogging, keep travelling.

Please do not worry about writing a comment on every post. Nobody expects that when blogging. In fact, I KNOW I have a number of friends and relatives who read my blog and do not leave a comment at all. :-) However, if I forget to post something, they will remind me.
DeleteI am super impressed at how good your English is, Yokosan. My mother has spoken to me in Japanese from the time I was born and my Japanese is probably that of a 3 year old. Mom has told me not to speak Japanese when I'm traveling in Japan except when I am with relatives. My accent is good enough that people in Japan might think I know what I'm saying when I say something goofy.
It really is phenomenal how times go by. It has really helped me, blogging. I can focus on what goes well, and get sympathy for the quirks of life. As someone with depression, it has been terrific for me, as I realize what I have accomplished during the day.
