When we were visiting our daughter, Tiffany last year we saw that she had a fancy electric water kettle. This was something new for us. We thought it might be something that would be good for mom with her worsening forgetfulness.
Unfortunately, mom just couldn't remember how to use to it. However, we found that we really liked it for ourselves.
We're able to measure out exactly how much water we want to boil, press the lever and it heats the water to boiling and turns itself off.
We'd gotten the 1 liter kettle because we thought it would be more manageable for mom, (OK, it was also the most affordable) but it's actually just right for me to handle too. I have to fill the water kettle twice to have the perfect amount to fill my container to make ginger tea.
Do you have any kitchen things you especially love?
Have a happy weekend, everybody!

ReplyDeleteWe have one. I experimented to see what boils water faster - tea kettle or hot pot? Hot pot won out. We love ours, a gift from a daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love my milk frother. My ancient Krups didn't foam the milk well nor get it hot enough. Now my mochas are much warmer!
ReplyDeleteWe love our Aga!... not exactly a kitchen tool... but it keeps my kitchen warm and is always heated and ready to use. The cats (when we had inside cats) as well as the kids, grandkids, (and occasionally myself) love to sit on the floor with our backs to the warm Aga.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool in my kitchen is my sweet partner! :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of the kids gave us an electric kettle. However, it has a very narrow gooseneck spout designed to drizzle water over tea leaves. It takes too much time for me, and I rarely use it.
ReplyDeleteI like my one cup coffee maker by Black & Decker. My daughter has that water boiler kettle and when the new baby (one month old granddaughter!) is fussy, I go into their kitchen, turn on the switch and the sound of the water heating and boiling stops the fussing. She turns her head, listens in wonder, and stops fussing right away.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! You find something to make life easier and...
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a fave tool. JB is picky about coffee, but that is his coffee machine!
I love your adventurous nature! Probably why you folks travel so much. I know this is going to sound really dumb, but a friend recently made and gave me some potholders which I love! I realize that I've just been using a kitchen towel or something of that nature to pick up hot things. These things are great! Our potholders or something new? Lol
ReplyDelete"Are potholders something new "
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Not new at all. I have a drawer full of them because friends and relatives used to make them.
DeleteI’m all alone. Have one of those little crock pots. I make soup, bake potatoes ( sweet and white), cook beans, make chili. Doesn’t hold much. Perfect for one person.
ReplyDeleteWe have a regular coffee maker that gets used everyday. Then I use the microwave to rewarm the leftover coffee for my evening milky brew, with chocolate of course.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this has more bells and whistles than my kettle.
ReplyDeleteWe've use a plug-in kettle for so long that I tend to forget the stovetop kind.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea, Kay. It sounds interesting! Thank you for sharing this. Wishing you a wonderful Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like your electric tea kettle and I bought one for myself a couple years ago and love it. I call it my dancing kettle because the top part is a glass pitcher and blue lights dance when the water boils.
ReplyDeleteWe (actually, he - the kitchen gadget guy) acquired an Air Fryer a while back. Very useful in many ways. Downside is that there is yet more clutter on the counters.
ReplyDeleteLove my 8.99 egg cooker from walmart. So easy and love having hard boiled eggs in the fridge. I use my airfryer daily. Dee
ReplyDeleteI was really liking the idea of that egg cooker, but Art is saying we don't eat boiled eggs often. Ahhh well... Sounds like a great idea though. We did just get an oven/air fryer for Christmas and liking it so far. :-)
DeleteKay it has settings for soft boiled eggs and even makes omelettes. It holds one to seven eggs.
DeleteKay: Soooo tempting….
