The Retired Ladies Group in our little "village" that I meet with every third Friday of the month at a member's home took me out to Monastero's in Chicago. It was such a fabulous restaurant with such delicious food. The chocolate frosting on that cake was out of this world. I'm sure going to miss hanging out with the group and exchanging stories of grandchildren, handy tips, movie reviews, medical opinions, etc.

I got home from the luncheon in time to greet the piano movers who moved out our super HEAVY Sohmer upright piano to its new home. I still don't know how they did it. It was a struggle but they managed. They are called Affordable Movers. I guess they couldn't afford to get some kind of contraption that would lift that piano for them. Not having a lot of brawn, they had to rely on good ol' fashioned ingenuity.
CHANGE in plans: We'll be leaving on Sunday instead of Saturday so we have another day to get our things done.
talk about non stop parties...you are going to miss all this partying and be in for a shock to start cooking again. enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteLots of people seem to care about you. That's a lovely legacy to leave behind.
ReplyDeleteNice looking group!! The first RTA meeting I attended began with a reading of the names of those who had died since the last meeting-- I haven't gone back!! Yippee-- that means we have plus one more day of posts!!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to miss all your wonderful friends - but then, perhaps they're all looking forward to the opportunity to visit you in Hawaii and you'll have a constant stream of visitors!
ReplyDeleteAnother great tribute to you, Kay. I'll be away over the weekend so won't get a chance to "keep an eye on you." I'll be checking first thing Sunday evening, though.
ReplyDeletePiano up, up and away. That's a high note for today.
ReplyDeleteThe movers seem to be doing a pretty good job.I don't see any broken pieces of furniture scattered about. Thank goodness!
