6 Days Before D(eparture) Day: Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there and the moms who have to be both Mom and Dad!

We had a very lovely luncheon with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter at a restaurant in Oak Brook. They presented Art with a very unique gift. It was a mug with photos of him and KC. I've never seen anything like it. Isn't it amazing?

We've got a heavy schedule for this coming week. We're half done with wiping down the floors, moving things around, creating a living space for our next 5 days and talking to neighbors and friends who are coming to say goodbye. I love being able to give them things that are still left over from the sale. Somebody has also said that they would like to have the upright piano. I hope she can arrange a piano mover because the darn thing is HEAVY. We'll also be calling the Salvation Army to see if they will pick up a lot of the furniture and then I'll call that other fellow who hauls away things. Then there's the roofer to deal with, the home security guy, and what else? Doctors visit, retirement party, ladies club luncheon.... what else? My list is exploding. How can this be?

Ah well. That's enough for today. My friend in need, Gerri came over with a video to watch, The Bucket List. That should give us a little breather before things rev up again tomorrow. So many people have offered to come and help us clean up. Our neighbor's two teenage sons came over and helped haul our daughter's things from our van to the house. Gosh! I love these wonderful people! We will miss them all dreadfully!
