Good Bye...

It's incredible how quickly seven weeks can go by. KC made the most of the morning playing with her water buckets. We enjoyed just watching her enjoyment.

Too quickly it was time to go to the airport. I was amazed that Tif could carry that bulky car seat on her back as well as hold her backpack, baby diaper bag while pushing KC's stroller. We could see that KC knew things were happening but couldn't quite figure out what. I could handle the parting OK until Tif broke into tears. Now... that was hard.

When we got home Art and I put away KC's toys, and took down the baby gate. I feel as though I can hear the echo of her laughter somewhere upstairs. I sense Tif's voice telling me something else that we could do that would be fun. Gosh! It's quiet around here.

  1. What can I say? I know how bereft I feel every time we say goodbye to our sons, how I just want to hold them tight and never let go, how I have to be reasonably nonchalant knowing that's what they want. I don't know which is worse, them leaving us or us leaving them. So I can only guess how you are feeling. But at the same time there's the pleasure to be had out of 'reclaiming' your home and enjoying the peace and quiet and time for yourself.

  3. Got a good book that you've been waiting to get into? Feet up...lemonade...and get lost[temporarily] in a novel.

  4. I feel your pain (and have felt it). Do something just for yourself, call and leave a message that they'll get when they get home, make prints of some of the pictures you've taken and send them so KC can hold them. Try to enjoy the quiet for a while. January will be here before you know it.

  5. Oh my daughter just left a few days ago and that is so hard. Saying good-by to a granddaughter as they change so fast..that is very hard...

I really LOVE hearing from you! However, if you sign in as ANONYMOUS, please don't forget to tell me who you are in the comment box by just writing your first name. We would all appreciate it if you kept your comment respectful and kind.

I’m using Comment Moderation for any post that is more than a day old because of aggravating SPAM. Therefore, if your comment does not go up on an older (more than a day old) post, it's because I need to OK it first. I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
