Webcam Aloha!

Isn't technology wonderful? It was 8:00 PM our time but 1:00 AM their time. Tif called on Skype using the webcam and I was able to answer KC's request to sing Eensy Weensy Spider to her. It was wonderful to see her and interact as she pointed to us.

Tif says she paid for an Economy Upgrade and was lucky to have 3 seats next to her that were unoccupied. The 9 hour flight from Hawaii to Chicago on United went very well and they survived it beautifully. Unfortunately, KC is still on Hawaiian time and didn't feel it was time for bed. As we were talking to her she put her thumb in her mouth when I asked if she was tired and ready for bed. She nodded, threw us a kiss and waved "bye bye." Our neighbors must have been wondering what was going on with all the happy laughter spilling out of our windows.

  4. Good deal! [for everyone]!
I find all this technology to be like 'magic'! I'm sure that it was very rewarding for everyone involved. Safely back in Ill., now you can relax.

  5. I haven't checked in to the web cam. We usually send short videos, SOGPs for Silly Old Grandparent Productions. I'll have to check out web cams. Glad it's working for you.

  8. Happy that all went well and they are safely home again. As KC catches on to the web cam idea, you can have some fun interactions. I'll bet her daddy was glad to see her again too.

  9. Hi Kay! I am glad that their flight went well. I have a hard time trying to keep up with today's technology. Tif and KC look very happy. I am glad that they were able to spend so much time with you, your husband and mom, and that with webcam, you wouldn't miss out on KC's milestones. Have a good day. Lisa

  12. Really glad the journey went safely, and how wonderful to be able to say a nursery rhyme in real time over such a distance. Brilliant. Note to self, must get webcam set up before teenager goes to Oz next year....

  13. This post just makes me grin!! What fun to be able to share such intimacy over distances. All they have to do now is come up with a way to let us feel one of those big hugs around the neck that only a toddler can give.

I love the expression, "laughter spilling from our windows" I just can't help smiling!!

    I also loved Linda's SOGP's... clever!
