Graduation Day for My Sister-in-Law!

My sister-in-law, Nancy has been working very hard to achieve a promotion to Assitant Manager at Walmart. Today, she made it! The training graduation ceremony was supposed to have been held outside but incredibly, it rained... a lot! They call rain liquid sunshine in Hawaii but today... it was just rain. Therefore they held the ceremony in the garden shop area. It didn't have quite the same ambiance but the feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction were there just the same. Nancy got a lot of beautiful leis to crown her achievement.


There were a lot of gorgeous orchids in the garden area. I have to admit I was tempted.


Poor Nancy had to go right back to work after the ceremony. I sure hope Walmart treats her well because she is a very hard worker. The picture below is of Nancy, my brother, Dennis, my mom and Art.


It was fun to be able to go to a family celebration since we've missed so many having lived on "the Mainland" for the past 34 years. Tif made sure Aunt Nancy got a lei from KC also. Can you imagine how much KC would have loved to have seen all those flowers?

    Congratulations Nancy! Job well done.

    The orchids are beautiful. I can see why you were tempted.

    Sorry Nancy had to go back to work, but I am sure the celebration continued all day and after work.

    She looks a bit uncomfortable with all the leis, but I am glad that KC was able to join the fun. I think KC would have taken some of the flowers and went outside in the rain (her love of water) and found a big puddle to play in.

    Thanks for keeping us part of your family. We are looking forward so to our upcoming trip to Hawaii. Maybe we'll have a reason to visit WalMart.

    Mazal-tov to Nancy. Leis--it seems such a nice custom. I've never seen one with real flowers.

    My Dean and his father have several Hawaiian shirts in Australia. The shirts are so happy looking.

    Kind of makes me think of "...closes a door, opens a window". You are now able to participate with that rest of the family, and as we get older, our parents and siblings become more important to us. We seem to appreciate them more.

    WOW!!! WalMart's Garden Center doesn't look anything like that in Ephraim, Utah. How I wish it did!

    I think your sister looks lovely in all of her lei's. I don't think there could be such a thing as having too many. Kinda like money. It you have an excess... you just give some away. It works for money, lei's, chocolates, books, shoes, t-shirts... every thing but kids.

    It is wonderfull indeed to be able to participate in family celebrations. Good things are even better when their shared. Congrats to your sis!!
