Blogger Luncheon at the Honolulu Museum of Art

Marianna of Hattie's Web and her husband, Terry generously treated Cloudia of Comfort Spiral, Hank, Art and me to a blogger luncheon at the Honolulu Museum of Art Cafe.

We hadn't been there in decades and was surprised at all the changes.  It had been renovated and modernized.  Marianna and Hank mentioned that the first Wednesday of the month has a free admission so we'll have to go back someday.

The atmosphere was lovely and the cool trade winds felt wonderful!  Marianna and Terry live on the Big Island and were on Oahu for business and pleasure.

Hank said all the food here was great and he was right!

I had the Asian Chicken Salad and Art had Grilled Long Eggplant.

Darn!  I forgot to take a photo of the delicious apple mango crisp dessert.

We couldn't believe how quickly two hours could zip by.  We had to jog to our car since we knew we'd exceeded the meter allotment.  No ticket.  Phew!

We used to be nervous about meeting other bloggers, but after having met several now we find that it feels like we've known each other forever.   Thank you, Marianna and Terry for a truly wonderful day!

  4. it's cool you'll got to meet-up

I always wondered if my area had any blog groups or events, and came up with next to nothing. Even state-wide and areas near me in NC and GA

  10. I look forward to meeting another blogger and have met many. Eighty percent are just like their writing, but there is that 20 percent that is very withdrawn and totally unlike the persona they depict on the page. That always bothers me. I expect people to be very much the same in person as they are on paper, but I have met book authors before who certainly are nothing like the stories they tell on paper so I know that it's just not the case. Glad you had so much fun with your blogger buddies. What a beautiful place to meet.

  11. And here is somewhere you haven't been in a while. Perhaps your mom would like this museum too.
Yes, please go back soon. I'm truly interested in seeing the inside of the museum. Yes, also. We love the bloggers we have met up with.

  14. How nice you got to meet two on the same day. I've only met one blog buddy and it was a delightful meeting. It is like meeting old friends that we all ready know a lot about.

  16. I have met two blogger friends who love in the general area. They were brief encounters not planned but fun.
I'm typing on my phone which is at bit tricky, so I , not going to go back and insert commas where they should be. I do love my new phone. We are at Rockaway Nd I am connected!

  17. I'm sure there are some not-so-nice bloggers somewhere, but they don't hang out with us in the blogosphere, so they're unlikely to want to meet us in person. I have met quite a few other bloggers now and some more than once.
I still try to read between the lines when I'm reading blogs, and I think I'm fairly good at figuring people out by what they write and also by the way they write.
So glad you had a good time, and so sorry you didn't get a photo of the dessert!
Hi to Art, and best wishes to your mom.

I really LOVE hearing from you! However, if you sign in as ANONYMOUS, please don't forget to tell me who you are in the comment box by just writing your first name. We would all appreciate it if you kept your comment respectful and kind.

I’m using Comment Moderation for any post that is more than a day old because of aggravating SPAM. Therefore, if your comment does not go up on an older (more than a day old) post, it's because I need to OK it first. I'm sorry to have to do this, but again... sigh... it's the spam that's driving me crazy.
