Do you all do this?
It's amazing to see how much toothpaste is still in the tube if you use the back of a comb to squeeze the tube before throwing it out.
Since you only need about a glob the size of a pea, I'll usually have enough to last me several more days.
Art and I don't have a problem with toothpaste tubes that other couples often have because one partner squeezes from the top or the bottom or whatever. We each have our tubes.
On top of that when we renovated the house, we put in two medicine cabinets so we could have our own supplies.
It's one more thing to keep the marriage happy.

Cute solutions for happiness. I like those slider bars to gradually push the toothpaste out.

I also use a slider bar, a little plastic thing that I reuse when it's finally empty. We also use different tubes, since we both like different brands best. :-)

ReplyDeleteYes, I do that to toothpaste tubes. And I have my own bathroom! It's pure bliss. Ken's snoring makes me consider moving to another bedroom, but I really hate the thought of doing that

ReplyDeleteI have a little sliding bar, too. I bought a pack of three years ago and gave two away. Now I cannot find them at the store, and my dentist recommended another kind of toothpaste for night. Drat.

ReplyDeleteYou have focused today on one of life's persistent problems. In my case, I have no set policy as I tend to be somewhat loosey goosey about saving tiny little bits of money which is what the toothpaste dilemma really is. I begin the ending of the tube by saving and squeezing, then I get disgusted but still keep it because I haven't bought a new tube yet. Then I forget to buy a new tube so I'm still stuck. Once I bought TWO new tubes of toothpaste and my life was changed for the better immediately. What a feeling of freedom and relief.
ReplyDeleteThis posting reminds me of the taxi driver in Ireland who, when I paid him, accidently dropped a skinny little aluminum coin on the ground. He looked at it indifferently and said, "It's not worth anything anyway, so I'm not going to bother to pick it up."
Dick and I have separate bathrooms, but if he needs to wash his hands during the day, he uses my bathroom sink because he says I get the hottest water before the kitchen or his bathroom. This means I go through hand towels at a furious rate.

ReplyDeleteNumber 2 son bought us some gadgets a few years ago and it took us ages to work out that they are for squeezing tubes; they're like a couple of little rollers joined by elastic bands and work brilliantly. I have some on the toothpaste tubes and some on the tomato puree tube.
