Good friends have sent me these musical cards in the past and I always kept them for my granddaughter to play with.
One card she really loved was this one.
When you opened this card James Brown sang out loud and strong, "I feel good."
KC would open and shut this card over and over to hear the initial joyous James Brown yell.
After 7 years, you could still faintly hear the song.
I couldn't resist taking the card apart to see how it worked.
I got this card from a teacher friend and it played the Star Wars theme music.
Isn't it amazing that these little music players are in each card? Haven't you ever wondered how it was done?

I love to buy these for the little kids I send cards to, and sometimes the big kids too! I recently helped celebrate the 100th birthday of one of my patients (when I was still working) and he loved the card I bought for him. When opened, a flower popped up with lights and the song "what a wonderful world" played.

ReplyDeleteSomeone gave me an ELVIS one because I like to call people on the phone and sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY like Elvis! Love that you took it apart like that, now could you come and fix my toaster? LOL.

ReplyDeleteI used to enjoy taking pens apart. I'm sure one of my kids took a card apart once. Those inards look familiar.
ReplyDeleteWe had one that had the same James Brown, I FEEEEEL Good song. It did make us smile and/or laugh. It was a little loud and sometimes it would be opened in a quiet space and be quite a shock and surprise to everyone.

ReplyDeleteI always loved the concept of those cards, but could never bring myself to buy one, to have it thrown away. Like all cards are, I suppose. I did wonder how they worked. That question answered.
