Two Mountain Ranges?

We were on our way into town one morning and I did a double take. I knew the Koolau mountain range was in that direction, but I sure didn't think there were two mountain ranges in the same direction.

As we got closer, I saw that a blanket of clouds was hugging the Koolau mountains.

For a while there, my eyes did deceive me.

  2. Yes, sometimes clouds look like mountains, even is there aren't any to begin with.

  3. I can often picture the clouds as mountains in the distance or a sea with islands. Lovely photo.

  4. I love Hawaii. I have been there twice. My son was deployed there on two different occasions. It's a lovely place. My son lived in an apartment building across the street from the beach. It was that "famous" beach. I can't remember how to spell it. :)

  10. Depending on the clarity of the day, I see several islands, or maybe it is my imagination. I often try to picture the landscape and scenery around me without buildings or improvements, like in the old days before concrete came to the islands.

  13. Really nice photo; made you think about nature's magic. Your islands have so many amazing sights. I once chased 3 rolling rainbows on Maui as we drove between former flat plantation fields and the mountains to the side. Needed a very wide angle lens that we didn't have. Still in my memory though. You should consider enlarging that photo. Linda in Kansas (not many mountains)

    1. Nature does have a lot of fun in Hawaii. We just have to keep our eyes open to notice it.
