Good friends of ours encouraged us to come out their way to see the holiday light show in their neighborhood. To be honest, we do have quite a few neighbors that do decorate their homes with lights, BUT not like this!
So here are just a few of the incredible light decorations that neighbors in that community put out for the enjoyment of everyone.
Several cul-de-sacs in the area had all their homes decorated. I was wondering if anybody felt the pressure each year of making sure their home was decorated as beautifully as the others.
See that pretend chimney on the roof of that top photo? The windows are pretend too. The fake chimney was actually putting out some kind of smoke/steam (?). Absolutely amazing!
Where do they get all these incredible light decorations?
Everybody must know that this is the place to be for holiday lights because we saw many families strolling or driving along to enjoy the sights.
Art had to take these photos for our grandsons who are really into Pokemon and Paw Patrol. I wish they could have been here to see this.
Well, I must tell you that we did have a lot of fun and were very lucky that it didn't rain on us. Do you decorate the outside of your home in December?
Yes, that's beautiful but I would dread to see their electric bills!!!
ReplyDeleteGood thing several houses had solar panels.
DeleteWow!! Wow!! Those are really amazing. I would have to walk — so I could take it all in.
ReplyDeleteWe just hang a single strand of lights from our eaves. For the most part, we try to focus our efforts on the true meaning of Christmas and avoid all the commercialization that it has turned into.
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the best nighttime light photos I've seen! I'm always surprised at all the trouble people go to, to gussy up the outside of their homes for Christmas. Bah humbug to all of it!
ReplyDeleteWow, some show!
ReplyDeleteAmazing and I am sure there is quite a bit of competition among the fellows. Make me realize I should do some light sightings also. Their work should be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. We have some fab houses, but this is a whole neighbourhood. I guess it is easier to do in the warmth too. It was very cold taking a few pics last night.
ReplyDeleteWe put lights on our house, and we still have a few working lighted pieces for the front yard, but we have stopped replacing the things that wear out.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas lights. These photos are so much fun. In the darkness of December in our northern location, the lights just gladden my spirit.
wow...that is really something. i guess there aren't many chimneys in hawaii? i never thought about that before.
ReplyDeleteThe extent of our decorations are a wreath, and lighted candles in the windows. We have no plug socket on the front porch to plug in lights so would have to run an extension cord. Maybe next year. Haven't see any decorations around here to match what you shared. In Columbia, MD where we used to live there were houses that went all out and there's the Merriweather Post/Symphony Woods Festival of Lights each year. Maybe your grandsons will get to see that.
ReplyDeleteThese are snazzy! There must be some pressure!
ReplyDeleteI saw a clever one. Picture two houses, one on the left, one on the right. The one on the left was quite lit up, with fancy schmancy stuff. The one on the left had lights spelling out: D I T T O => and pointing to the neighbour's home!
Some people go all out with decorations. They liberally use hi tech stuff.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see you this morning. Yes, normally we have all three floors lit up but not this year. George did light lite, and I put our smallest Christmas tree in the front windows. Boy those lights are something else.
ReplyDeleteGoodness! The fake chimney is cute. Everyone seems to have a jolly spirit to put out so many decorations that you can't see their house. When my Mom, son Eric and I visited Hawaii over the Christmas holiday, I was surprised how many decorations were in the hotels and throughout town. That would be nice to walk through all of that in t-shirt and shorts. Freezing overnights in KC! Mahalo for the tour. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling this particular area has become rather "famous" and therefore attract even more people to see it every year which then puts more "pressure" on the neighbors to keep up their happy handiwork.
DeleteWow what a display, some do go all out.
ReplyDeleteI don't decorate the outside and barely do the inside either. However, I love seeing how creative others are with their lights and decorations. I hope it brings them joy! We had an area in my town when we were little called Twinkle Lane. And yes, there is a lot of pressure to match or outdo your neighbors' displays.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! That is quite the incredible display. I love to see them but would sure not like to have to do all that work! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of lighting.
ReplyDeleteFor me I try to avoid as much as possible. This is a rough time of year for me.
I'm so sorry, William. I know several people for which these holidays are a downer.
DeleteThat was wonderful! Something mesmerizing about lights in the night
ReplyDeleteIs that in Kaneohe? After a high school soccer game at Castle High School I got lost and the street over was decorated to the max and quite wonderful. There used to be a house on 8th Avenue in Kapahulu that would go all out but it has been years since. We used to drive by when the kids were little and they would be enchanted.
ReplyDeleteIt's in Mililani, but there's a number of places apparently that do this. I think there was one in Royal Summit also, but not like this. This is the most I've seen.
DeleteWe have a State Park on the lake and every year different businesses put up holiday decorations. It is lighted at night and a beautiful drive to take.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had to pull your mom from the day care center. That was a very wise thing to do. When we watch the evening news, it tells us which areas are the worse. HI and Alaska were until yesterday the darkest colors. Now all the states are in trouble.
ReplyDeleteWow! These are amazing. The question is not only, as you say, where do they get these incredible decorations, but where do they store them :-)
ReplyDeletebeautiful ..... can you share where this is ??
ReplyDeleteThis is in Mililani. If you would like to know exactly where, please write to my email address and I can show you. It is a lot of fun to see.
DeleteWe don't decorate the outside of our home but many do. I just posted last night some of them in our retirement community. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe do not decorate the outside of our house, but you know, I love people that do, because they are doing it for no other reason than to bring a smile to the faces of others.
