I have some friends who are super into the South Korean K-Pop group called the BTS.

Anyway, Targets were selling these light sticks for $69. However, they quickly sold out here in Hawaii so my friends were disappointed.
I thought Chicago being a bigger city and maybe, just maybe not having as much of a craze than here would have some.
So I texted my daughter. Nope. All sold out in her area and there are two Targets in easy distance to their house!

Well, Tiffany was going to lunch with her friend who lived rather far away so she asked her to check the Targets in areas on the way to the restaurant. But all the Targets on the way to the restaurant were also sold out except for one place that had one... just one.
Gosh! This is like the Beatles so many decades ago. And yes, I was one of their fans for quite a while. I had several of their record albums. I think I still have them somewhere.

Now that I think about it... isn't this like being a sports fan wearing sport team clothing and buying sport team paraphernalia and attending all their games? 😀 My kids are laughing, I'm sure, since I'm not into sports either unlike my whole family.

ReplyDeleteI've heard of BTS but I guess didn't realize they sang any songs in English, not that I can really understand what they are saying more than a word here and there. I would rather listen to your list of artists Kay! Although I've been to a number of concerts over the years, mine are all really cheap compared to what a popular group like that costs to go see live. I'm just too cheap and dislike huge crowds so I would much rather buy the CD and sit back in an easy chair at home to listen. If I want to get really fancy, I would just buy a video of one of their concerts.

ReplyDeleteWell, I guess it's good to know that there is still a market for music. I guess it's music, although it seems to be as much merchandise as music. Like Ed, I can't understand the words and have never been in to rap or hip hop. which is supposedly all about the words and the rhythm. I like old music too.

ReplyDeleteI think it is cute when people get excited about music. I never knew a word to a Taylor Swift song until her concert tour. I enjoyed watching all the videos with my granddaughter and now I am humming along in grocery stores.

ReplyDeleteI'm a classic rock person although I do enjoy some catchy pop. My oldest grandson is into the K-pop demon hunters, so that soundtrack is often on in the car. It reminds me of what we used to call bubble gum pop.
ReplyDeleteIZ is one of my top favorites for music. I've been to a few concerts but not for years. I listen and enjoy Classical, New Age, Electric Funk, and the Rock n Roll classics. Bob Seger is another top one.

ReplyDeleteSuch an upbeat song and cute boys! I have the McDonald's set of figurines from a couple of years ago. I respect them because they completed serving their mandatory military training that is required of ALL young men - except exceptions are made for many youth of influential wealthy families - which is frowned upon by Koreans.

ReplyDeleteI listened to a smidgen of their song. I just finished a book about a North Korean girl. The name of it is “In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom”. The author is Yeonmi Park and the memoir details her escape from North Korea.
