Our daughter gave us a bag full of goodies for our road trip to Southern Illinois, New Mexico and Calfornia. She's always been very thoughtful and kind. She filled the bag with crossword puzzles for me, jumblers for Art, water, snacks, stamped envelopes with pretty cards for me to start my thank you notes to everyone, CDs of our favorite songs and so many other things to make our road trip go smoothly.

Neighbors came to say good bye as we started packing our van.

Amazingly, all of our son's belongings that we are delivering to New Mexico fit.... sort of. We do have to add our suitcases also.

As evening cloaked our house that we have loved so much, it was a comfort to know that our daughter and her family will continue to fill it with love and joy.
Our final day in our home is over. We've packed and organized and have said many painful good byes, and now it's time to leave bright and early tomorrow morning. Our first stop will be in Bloomington, Illinois where we will visit dear friends who used to be our neighbors in our neighborhood. I'm going to see if I can get Peggy to do a blog. :-) After our short visit we will continue on to Springfield, Illinois. Then it's on to New Mexico and then to the Port of Long Beach, California where we will ship our van to Hawaii. We'll visit with friends we met in Holland last year and then board a Hawaiian Airlines flight to Hawaii.
