8 Days Before D(eparture) Day: House Sale!



Hallelujah! Yesterday's body scan is over and the radiologist said the pictures were clear enough that I don't have to come back for a second scan! Yahoo! OH YAHOO! No more bowel flushing! No more lying perfectly still for over an hour, strapped to a gurney with my arms immobile. Yahoo! Yahoo! Yahoo! All I have to do now is wait for the results next Wednesday. But I won't think about that now.

Today is Friday the 13th and sure enough it's forecasted to thunderstorm (and hail!) for our moving/house sale. We stopped and checked on the house yesterday(we're staying at our daughter's condo for the week) and looked over what the house sale conductor had done. He had priced things rather low. He explained that there is unfortunately a glut of house/estate sales tomorrow so in order to compete, we have to lower our prices. Ah well... The main thing is to clear the house so whatever will be will be. We're happy that other people can enjoy the things we used to love.

    it's amazing looking back that we spend so much money on things that later we don't want, try to sell or give away. we can't take them with us ultimately...hope you have good luck and weather cooperates to have a successful sale. wonderful news on your health issues.

    Lin: You're right, but those things did give us pleasure for a time. Would you believe the storm system that was supposed to hit apparently veered south? Oh my gosh! How lucky is that on Friday the 13th?
    Jean and Dina: It's so good to be done with the scan. Now, I won't think about it until the results come in next Wednesday.

    Your sale reminds me that we should buy and collect things because we like them, because they DO give us pleasure, not for investment purposes. The good thing about having to sell them now is that they can give someone else pleasure.

    Hi Kay, I'm stopping by after hearing from Britgal Sarah that you are suffering from thyroid cancer and undergoing treatment. I went through that just over a year ago and wish you well. I will read up on your blog about your condition.

    My first word of advice is to not trust endocrinologists. They treat lab results and not how you actually feel.

    Cheers for now and lucky you, moving to Hawaii! The whole world is jealous :)

    I have been following your posts leading up to your departure and this post made me smile for today is yard sale day and we are looking forward to visiting a large one today which is rumoured to have some nature guidebooks for sale. Good luck with the sale, the move and the test results.
