Koa Pancake House

Whenever we have to go for a fasting blood test, we end up at the Koa Pancake House for breakfast.  This time it was Art's turn to get his blood tested.

It was decadent.  They have Koa Pancake Houses all over the island.  They serve only breakfast and lunch.

You get all this for $6.95 + $1.25 for coffee.  And it's way too much.  I ended up eating only a third of that stack of pancakes.

It's a good thing I don't need to have my blood tested until November.

  1. Live it up! Better feasting than fainting after fasting. (Say that fast three times, hehe.)

    1. Too funny, Dina. I did it three times, but it wasn't easy and I don't think I could do it again.

  3. Yikes! That is a whole lot of food. I'm not a fan of pancakes since I ate too many of them as a kid. :-)

  7. Honestly, from the pictures I have seen of you and Art, I never would have imagined the two of you sitting down to a breakfast like that.
But,hey, a little indulgence, especially after the pain of a fast, is a good thing.

    2. I just checked Yelp and found the place we went to. It was called Sunrise Cafe in Lahaina. The food was very reasonable, but the atmosphere was well.... Hole in the wall. We liked it though. Service was friendly, but SLOW.

  10. with a breakfast as hardy as this one i'd want my blood tested every month. i'm really tired of eating hot cereal everyday. so this would be a nice change up for me. hope Art's blood test comes back good. have a great day~

    1. Oatmeal with fruit is our usual breakfast so this almost makes it fun to have our blood tested. Let's replace "our" with "his".

  14. The bacon and eggs has me drooling. It has been way too long. Fasting would make it all taste even better.

  16. We went there only once right before store closing (late lunch). I ordered grilled mahi and it was very good. Our SIL ordered an omelet and it looked huge. I need to go back and try their breakfast.

  17. Depending on your health, the eggs and bacon could be better for you than the carbs in the pancakes, although both look wonderful. Dianne

    1. Actually none of it is good for me. I am pre-diabetic and have high cholesterol. I blame my genes.
